  • WeChi Spicy is our original kimchi puree in a pouch with the addition of fermented fresno chilis to give it a bit more heat than WeChi Regular.

  • We consider WeChi Spicy to be about a 5 out of 10; a solid medium. Spicy enough to give you some heat, but not so spicy that you can’t eat more.

  • WeChi Spicy is good for your gut! Like all kimchi, it contains probiotics (healthy gut bacteria) as well as prebiotics (the food that helps probiotics thrive).

  • Kimchi is a naturally fermented, vegetable-based side dish that originated in Korea. If you haven’t tried kimchi yet, please do! There are some fantastic options available at local Korean and Asian fusion markets. Of course, there’s nothing like homemade kimchi (which is what we fell in love with many years ago).

  • Pretty much anything you’d squeeze a spicy condiment on! Think of it like a healthy hot sauce with a gingery, garlicky, tangy umami flavor. It’s amazing on eggs in the morning and noodle dishes at lunch. Substitute sriracha for WeChi and make a spicy probiotic mayo that will rock your world. Of course, it’s fantastic with classic Korean dishes like bulgogi and bimibap, as well as any pan-Asian cuisine, from Chinese and Japanese to Thai and Vietnamese.

  • Yes, it’s both/and! In order to achieve the salty umami traditionally imparted by fish sauce, oyster sauce, salted shrimp, etc., WeChi Spicy is made with a proprietary blend of shitake mushrooms, kombu (edible sea kelp) and gluten-free tamari so our vegan and gluten-free friends can also enjoy this amazing product!
